Your new company
Join a top-tier professional services firm experiencing significant growth and investment in its tax practice. With modern offices in the heart of London and an entrepreneurial culture, you'll work on high-quality projects comparable to the Big Four-without the red tape. As part of a global network, you'll have access to international opportunities and a collaborative environment that values your contribution and career progression.
Your new role
We're seeking a senior VAT specialist to lead and develop our Financial Services VAT offering. This is a pivotal role with flexibility on grade-ideal for an experienced Director or a high-performing Associate Director/Senior Manager ready to step up. You'll deliver technical VAT advice to financial services clients (including banks, insurers, and asset managers), drive business development, and lead a talented team. Beyond technical expertise, we're looking for someone with strong commercial acumen, client relationship skills, and leadership capability. There's clear scope for progression to Partner for the right individual.
What you'll need to succeed
1. Significant experience in VAT advisory within Financial Services (generalist or specialist in insurance, banking, or asset management).
2. Proven ability to combine technical excellence with business development and team leadership.
3. Strong client-facing skills and commercial mindset.
4. Excellent communication and presentation skills.
5. CTA or equivalent qualification desirable but not essential.
6. Ambitious, proactive, and motivated to build a growing practice.
7. Flexibility to work in a hybrid model (typically 3 days office/client).
8. Visa sponsorship considered for exceptional candidates.
What you'll get in return
9. Competitive salary (dependent on experience) plus discretionary performance bonus.
10. 27 days holiday plus firm-wide wellbeing day.
11. Private medical cover, contributory pension (5% employee / 6% employer), and life assurance.
12. Extensive salary sacrifice benefits (, car leasing, gym membership, critical illness cover).
13. Modern offices in central London with a collaborative, open-door culture.
14. Clear career path with genuine opportunity to progress to Partner.
