Production/Material Assistant
📍 Location: Canning Town | 🕒 Full-Time | 🏭 Onsite
🔍 Industry: Manufacturing / Supply Chain / Production

Are you a proactive and detail-oriented individual with experience in production planning and materials management? Our client, a leading player in the manufacturing sector, is looking for a Production/Material Assistant to support their growing operations.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in ensuring efficient production workflows, accurate inventory control, and high-quality output.

🔧 Key Responsibilities

Receiving & Inventory Setup

Receive and process materials from internal and external sources.
Cross-reference parts in JD Edwards (E1) and set up new items in Item Branch.
Create and manage Master Locations, staging areas, and zoning based on material characteristics.Work Order & Production Scheduling

Schedule daily/weekly work orders for the production team.
Collaborate with the Supply Chain team to reschedule or expedite orders based on demand changes.
Support production assembly lines and assist with buddy-check colorization for training and QA.
Plan and schedule preventative maintenance for facility equipment.Cycle Counting & Inventory Accuracy

Generate cycle count reports using Cognos and Showcase.
Conduct regular stock reviews and investigate discrepancies.
Maintain accurate records in EA Data Log/Metrics.Operational Support & Continuous Improvement

Update visual aids and process documents at workstations.
Handle product serialization, reclassifications, scrapping, and returns.
Troubleshoot issues related to tolerances, production errors, and urgent orders.
Drive process improvements and assist with equipment testing to ensure quality standards.🎓 Qualifications & Experience

Proven experience in production scheduling or material coordination, ideally in a manufacturing or warehouse setting.
Hands-on experience with ERP systems - JD Edwards E1 preferred.
Strong understanding of BOMs, work orders, serialization, and custom manufacturing processes.
Familiar with barcode systems and label printing.💡 Skills & Attributes

Excellent organizational and multitasking capabilities.
Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.⭐ Preferred Qualifications

Experience with tools like Cognos, Showcase, and Jira.
Understanding of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement.
