Base Location: Dundreggan / Invergarry, Inverness Salary: £38,966 - £45,905 performance-related bonus a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family. Working Pattern: Permanent / Full-Time The role This is a unique and exciting opportunity to become a part of our SSE Renewables Operations Hydroelectric team. As an Enhanced Craftsperson, you will primarily be responsible for the safe delivery of outage works by liasing with stakeholders to ensure effective pre-planning, co-ordinating multi-party work scopes, producing SHE plans and safety documentation, providing supervision of Operations team staff in support of the team leader. You will Support the team in planning, scheduling, and using IT systems to ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards. Act as the Principal Contractor representative, supervising contractors and staff during site works. Coordinate, supervise, and complete work packages, ensuring documentation is managed effectively. Operate and maintain hydropower generation schemes safely and in an environmentally acceptable manner. Communicate effectively and demonstrate understanding of relevant policies while mentoring an developing others. You have Proven experience in electrical/mechanical technology preferably within Hydro Operations or an Heavy Industrial setting, ideally with an SVQ level 3 or equivalent. Experience supervising teams or work parties and outstanding interpersonal skills. Knowledge of safe systems and authorization to manage safety documents, ideally holding an SMSTS qualification with a good understanding of legislation supporting maintenance and operational activities including LOLER, PUWER as this forms a considerable part of the role. Ability to operate mobile or fixed equipment like cranes, 4x4 vehicles, trash rakes and screen hoists. Flexibility to work outside normal hours, in diverse environments, and hold a valid driving license. About SSE SSE has a bold ambition – to be a leading energy company in a net zero world.
