The ideal candidate will have a strong interest or lived experience in deaf awareness and culture, alongside Safeguarding experience and great team skills.
As a Senior Practitioner in the Sensory Support Team, you will offer a real difference to ensure our service continues to develop and grow, achieving positive outcomes for vulnerable people experiencing sensory loss 18 years onwards.
You will be part of an established, dynamic and busy team, and will be creative in your approach to the needs of our community and build on peoples' assets with a strength-based approach. You will need to have the ability to work independently and part of a team. You should have experience of risk assessment, complex case management work.
We are looking for candidates who:
* are able to promote and provide guidance and challenge on positive approaches to diversity in the organisation
* have knowledge of statutory responsibilities, relevant legislation and policy frameworks relating to services for adults with care and support needs including those with sensory needs; including knowledge of Safeguarding Adults and Self-Directed support
* have an ability to meet travel requirements of the post
* have awareness of changing contexts at local, national and organisational level and the implications for practice in addition to making use of research to inform practice

In this team you will be assisting the provision of specialist support to those experience hearing and visual loss within a multidisciplinary team across the county. It is a fast paced, exciting role, for a practitioner who can manage change effectively and demonstrate your ability to be resilient under pressure. You will also engage closely with a wide range of stakeholders from local providers to interpreters to ensure the highest quality of service delivery.
