GSL Education are seeking a reliable Cover Supervisor to work in a welcoming school in the Sheffield area. This role offers an exciting opportunity to gain classroom experience, support learning across subjects, and inspire young people in their education.
Role Overview:
As a CS, you will supervise classes during teacher absences, ensuring pupils remain engaged in their learning and complete set work. You will maintain a positive classroom environment, manage behaviour effectively, and support students in achieving their best.
As a Cover Supervisor, you will:
* Deliver pre-prepared lessons and resources across a range of subjects.
* Supervise and support pupils to stay focused and on task.
* Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
* Provide feedback to teachers on pupil progress and engagement.
* Promote a safe and inclusive learning environment.
* Step in flexibly across different year groups when required.
Requirements for Cover Supervisor:
* Previous experience working with young people in a school or similar setting is desirable.
* Strong communication and classroom management skills.
* Confidence to supervise classes and engage pupils effectively.
* A patient, adaptable, and professional approach.
* An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
* A full CV covering the last 10 years, with explanations for any gaps.
