The Opportunity
We are now recruiting for a Senior Project Engineer to be based at either our Sunderland or Adlington office. The Senior Project Engineer is responsible for the integrity and delivery of the engineering and technical elements of work focusing on the execution of the project engineering tasks, ensuring the scope is well defined, controlled, understood, and aligned with the deliverables and safety requirements and reports to the Engineering Manager.
The Senior Project Engineer must work closely with the engineers across the business (technical, process, design and project) as well as other functional managers and subcontractors to progress these deliverables and manage/ support any queries that may arise.
Key Responsibilities
* The Senior Project Engineer is responsible for the integrity and delivery of the engineering and technical elements of work, focusing on the execution of the project engineering tasks, ensuring the scope is well defined, controlled, understood, and aligned with the deliverable and safety requirements.
* To work closely with the engineers across the business (technical, process, design and project) as well as other functional managers and subcontractors to progress deliverables and manage/support queries.
* Maintain good communication with the customer to provide regular engineering updates. Log, track and respond to customer queries in a timely manner. Interpret and clarify customer requirements and attend customer sites.
* Ensure feedback is maintained to progress deliverables, clarify scope, and assist the team in identifying technical risk and responding to queries.
* Work closely with designers and project managers to collaboratively ensure the contracted scope is delivered in a timely manner and that the project remains profitable for the business. Review the design output throughout the full life cycle of the project ensuring that it meets the requirements.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Minimum Requirements:
* HNC in Mechanical engineering or equivalent.
* Previous experience and understanding of heavy engineering, bespoke engineered technical solutions and process plant design.
* Proficient with the use of 2D software drawing packages.
* Have a working knowledge of ATEX regulations.
