Job Description
Westlakes Recruit are currently recruiting for an Electrical Commissioning Engineer interested in opportunities on a contract basis, to be located in Reading.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan, coordinate, and carry out commissioning of electrical systems and equipment.
* Review electrical designs, schematics, and specifications to develop test and inspection plans.
* Perform functional, insulation, and performance testing of electrical panels, distribution boards, and control systems.
* Identify, diagnose, and resolve electrical and control system issues in collaboration with project and design teams.
* Record and maintain detailed commissioning data, test results, and handover documentation.
* Ensure compliance with electrical standards (BS 7671, IET Regulations) and company quality and safety procedures.
* Support system integration, final acceptance, and continuous improvement activities.
Qualifications & Skills
* Degree or HNC/HND in Electrical or Electronic Engineering (or equivalent).
* Demonstrable experience in commissioning or installation of electrical or control systems.
* Strong understanding of electrical drawings, schematics, and testing methodologies.
* Familiarity with LV distribution, control panels, and instrumentation systems.
* Excellent analytical, communication, and organisational skills.
