Your main activities will include: Purchasing goods, materials, or services in line with specified cost, quality, and delivery targets. Preparing and raising purchase orders. Learning and developing the purchasing system. Learning and understanding how the purchasing systems flows into the accounts system. Maintaining the approved supplier register. Understanding the links between suppliers, especially sub-contractors and Health and Safety regulations. Developing the purchasing system to interact with external suppliers. Acting as an interface between purchasing, suppliers, and other relevant departments on purchasing processes. Preparing reports as and when required. Working closely with others in the procurement function and review opportunities for continuous improvement and business improvements. Build, maintain, and manage supplier relationships and keep up good communications. Ensure that a professional and consistent approach is taken in relation to all supplier relationships. Core Requirements: A Levels in a relevant Business/Management discipline. An honours degree in a relevant Business/Management discipline. An ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. You should be able to confidently demonstrate: A professional manner with excellent communication and people skills. Commercial awareness. Motivated self-starter with good administration, time management and organisation skills. The flexibility and willingness to work on a variety of assignments. Ability to prioritise work to meet deadlines. Good IT skills. Willingness to learn and take up new challenges.
