Job Description

1. Develop thorough understanding of work breakdown structure and its importance for large or multiple smaller construction projects with more complex scheduling activities.
2. Reference 'Scheduling Playbook' to understand and adhere to company and Scheduling policies, practices, procedures, and activities.
3. Develop relationships with project stakeholders for communication of overall project plan and to support project performance and promote value of scheduling.
4. Collaborate with project team (, Engineer and Superintendent) to confirm Contract Item List (CIL), develop Required On Job (ROJ) dates for schedule, and review Procurement Schedule to track and assess subcontractor commitments.
5. Collaborate with project team to develop project schedule based on Critical Path Method (CPM) logic-generated baseline schedules using scheduling software.
6. Review and recommend decisions related to performance of work regarding scheduling, delivery, logistics, and Trade staffing levels.
7. Study schedule deliverables prior to publication or distribution. Ask challenging questions regarding schedule content to enhance accuracy of schedule.
8. Collaborate with project departments (, Preconstruction, Commissioning, Procurement, Construction) to prepare detailed schedules.
9. Engage with Virtual Design & Construction (VDC) team to align and coordinate schedules and models.
10. Define project schedule metrics and monitor and track critical path activities to achieve predicted forecasted end-date.
11. Contribute information required to update project schedule dashboard.
12. Create target comparison models and look-ahead schedules to provide progress updates, present findings, and explain risks to project stakeholders, and create recovery strategies to support project adherence to schedule.
13. Challenge project team based on previous, current, and future schedule data for As Built vs. Planned progress.
14. Review Pull Plan and revise schedule accordingly and incorporate Last Planner System into schedule.
15. Collaborate with project team to identify events and change order management and identify events that impact project schedule and to develop project schedule time impact analysis.
16. Conduct project site progress walks to capture scheduling progress data.
17. Generate scheduling reports and summaries based on client requests or needs. Provide monthly scheduling progress for Operations Review Meetings (ORMs) or other project review sessions.
18. Provide support and guidance to project end-users (individuals or groups) to develop proficiency in using scheduling software.
19. Collaborate with and participate in Business Development (BD) and Marketing teams to develop and prepare proposal scheduling activities and related materials.
20. Develop and update cost and/or resource loaded schedules as requested.
21. Apply continuous improvement methodology to daily tasks and activities and to improve Scheduling operations.
22. Other activities, duties, and responsibilities as assigned.

The Successful Applicant

23. Bachelor's Degree from accredited degree program in Engineering, Construction Management, Building Construction, or related field, with minimum of 4 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education, training and experience
24. Large construction project experience (>$50m)
25. Experience in construction positions (, Field Engineer, Assistant Superintendent, or related)
26. Proficient use of scheduling software applications (, Oracle Primavera P6)
27. Knowledge of scheduling comparison tools (, Acumen Fuse, Change Inspector)
28. Knowledge of building construction, materials, systems, market conditions, and Trade practices
29. Ability to interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, and scopes of work to develop project schedule
30. Knowledge of estimating to support project schedule development
31. Familiar with earned value concepts and using construction resources to validate productivity and durations
32. Ability to manage competing demands and meet deadlines
33. Process and analytical skills to make decisions
34. Highly organized with attention to detail, and able to quickly develop understanding of requirements
35. Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies
36. Demonstrate professional interpersonal skills to develop relationships with project team members and stakeholders to acquire information and discern impact to schedule
