Job Title: Experienced SEND Teacher
Location: Gateshead
Salary: £150–£220 per day (depending on experience)
Contract: Full-time, Long-Term
Start Date: Immediate or September 2025
Are you an experienced teacher with a passion for supporting pupils with additional needs?
We’re working with a range of specialist and mainstream schools looking for Experienced SEND Teachers who can bring creativity, resilience, and expertise into the classroom. These schools support children with a variety of needs including autism, ADHD, severe learning difficulties, and social, emotional, and mental health needs.
Your role will include:
1. Planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons that meet a wide range of learning needs
2. Creating safe, structured classrooms that promote independence, resilience, and confidence
3. Using specialist strategies such as PECS, Makaton, sensory approaches, or trauma-informed practice
4. Working closely with TAs, therapists, and families to provide joined-up support for pupils
What we’re looking for:
5. UK QTS/QTLS and proven classroom experience in SEND settings
6. Strong knowledge of strategies for supporting pupils with additional needs
7. Excellent behaviour management and de-escalation skills
8. A positive, patient, and adaptable approach to teaching
