About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Production Manager to join a well‑established ham processing facility in Haverhill. This is a key role within the operation, leading production activities and ensuring performance targets are achieved across the shop floor.
Managing a team of up to 70 production staff, you will oversee day‑to‑day operations, coordinate shift activities, and drive a culture of efficiency, quality, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead, motivate, and develop a team of up to 70 colleagues within the production area.
* Ensure production targets, KPIs, and efficiency goals are achieved in line with operational requirements.
* Oversee daily production schedules, resource planning, and staff allocation.
* Monitor product quality and compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.
* Work closely with Technical, Engineering, and Planning teams to maintain smooth production flow.
* Identify opportunities for Continuous Improvement (CI) and support initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
* Maintain accurate records, reports, and performance data.
* Foster a safe working environment and promote best practices in health and safety.
About You
* Experience working in a supervisory, operational, or managerial role within food manufacturing or processing.
* Strong understanding of food safety, HACCP, and manufacturing standards.
* Proven ability to manage large teams and deliver results against KPIs.
* A proactive, hands‑on leader who thrives in a fast‑paced environment.
* Experience in Continuous Improvement (CI) or Lean Manufacturing techniques is desirable.
* Excellent communication and organisational skills.
