About You
Your role as a Kitchen Assistant involves preparing and serving nutritious meals, maintaining high standards of cleanliness, food safety, and hygiene. You will manage food supplies, assist in training new staff, and ensure resident wellbeing is prioritized in all tasks.
We seek candidates with some kitchen experience and either an NVQ2 in Catering or Food Preparation, or a willingness to obtain one. Strong organizational skills, good record-keeping, and the ability to follow recipes are essential. You should communicate considerately and kindly with residents and colleagues.
Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility. You must recognize signs of abuse, harm, or neglect, attend relevant training, and know how to report concerns appropriately. You should also be able to seek advice and escalate issues when necessary.
