About the Role
We're looking for compassionate individuals to join our team on a casual basis, supporting families during funeral services and behind the scenes. This flexible opportunity is ideal for those who want to make a difference in their community while working around other commitments. You'll be part of a team that ensures every service is delivered with dignity and respect. This position is well‑suited for individuals who are looking to work occasionally and contribute in a meaningful way, especially during peak periods or when extra ceremonial support is required.
Key Responsibilities
* Assisting at funeral services – bearing coffins, setting up venues, and supporting mourners
* Driving and operating specialist vehicles such as hearses and limousines
* Representing Dignity Funerals with professionalism and empathy
* Providing respectful, discreet support to families on the day of the service
* Maintaining ceremonial standards in appearance, conduct, and service delivery
About You
We're looking for someone who demonstrates compassion, empathy, and professionalism. The right candidate will have an understanding of the importance of presentation and discretion, be physically capable of manual handling tasks, and hold a Full UK Driving Licence (essential). Reliability, punctuality, and flexibility – including short‑notice availability – are essential, as is comfort with direct contact with the deceased.
No previous experience in funeral care is required – full training and uniform will be provided.
