About the role As Roastery Goods-in Coordinator at Origin, you will oversee and manage all inbound Roastery operations, ensuring incoming inventory is received, checked, inspected, and accurately recorded within agreed KPI’s and objectives. You will be responsible for maintaining high standards of stock accuracy, traceability, and safety across roastery goods-in activities. This role will ensure effective unloading, palletisation, identification, and storage of green coffee, with clear systems and processes in place to optimise workflow, space utilisation, and stock movement throughout the warehouse. What you'll do Incoming goods Receiving coffee deliveries, ensuring all goods are safely unloaded, accurately counted, receipted and stored appropriately. Storing, labelling and organising green coffee on racking in a structured and accessible manner. Ensuring each lot is placed in appropriate location, aligned to the relevant product line and rotated as required. Green Inventory Management Taking ownership of inventory integrity through regular stock counts, audits, and reconciliation to prevent stockouts or overstocking. Liaising with supply chain, coffee team and operations to resolve any discrepancies, damage or inaccurate allocations Layout and systems Space Optimization: Managing warehouse layout to maximize storage capacity and efficiency, ensuring safe handling of goods. Designing, printing and attaching labels to all stored coffee. Systems Management: Utilizing Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Excel to track data, analyse performance, and generate daily/weekly KPIs. Operational Compliance Hygiene Standards: Maintaining high sanitation standards in the warehouse to prevent pests and bacterial growth Conducting daily forklift checks, filling out the report form and flagging any issues Work alongside the Operational Compliance Manager to ensure audit readiness: maintaining detailed records (temperature logs, pest control reports, cleaning schedules) for audits by authorities or third parties Sanitation Scheduling and Execution Implementation of Daily “clean as you go policies” or similar systems to boost a culture where staff clean up spills, debris, and dust immediately to prevent buildup Scheduling deep cleaning regimes and supervising deep cleaning of warehouse floors, high-level racking, walls, and lighting to remove accumulated dust Assigning staff to specific sanitations zones, clearly defined zones (e.g., loading docks, dry storage, roasting areas) for accountability in daily cleaning Waste Management, ensuring food waste, broken packaging, and pallets are removed from the main warehouse to dedicated disposal areas promptly to deter pests Who you are You are a highly organised and process-driven warehouse professional with proven experience managing inbound goods and inventory control. You thrive in fast-paced operational environments and take pride in accuracy, efficiency, and clear ways of working. You are hands-on, detail-oriented, and confident owning goods-in from delivery through to storage, while continually looking for ways to improve systems, workflows, and service levels. Skills & Experience Proven experience in a Goods-In, Warehouse, or Inventory Management role Strong understanding of inbound logistics, stock control, and SLA-driven operations Experience receiving, inspecting, and recording stock with a high level of accuracy Knowledge of palletisation, storage optimisation, and warehouse layout best practices Experience using, implementing, or improving a WMS or inventory management system Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail Ability to analyse processes and identify opportunities for efficiency and accuracy improvements Confidence working cross-functionally with Operations, Production, and Supply Chain teams Comfortable working in fast-paced, operational environments Competent with digital tools, spreadsheets, and reporting systems Desirable Experience in FMCG, food & beverage, or manufacturing environments Understanding of stock traceability, quality checks, and compliance standards Forklift licence (or willingness to obtain) What success looks like Maintain high inventory accuracy, ensuring confidence in stock levels and smooth warehouse operations Receive and process deliveries efficiently, ensuring all quantities and documentation are correct first time Ensure all goods are receipted promptly to support continuous warehouse flow Maintain robust traceability and ensure the site remains audit-ready at all times Manage stock using FIFO principles to protect product quality and minimise waste Uphold safe, compliant storage practices and promote a strong safety culture Optimise warehouse space and racking usage to minimise disruption and maximise efficiency Use warehouse systems (WMS) accurately to ensure data integrity and reliable reporting Produce timely, accurate reports to support operational decision-making Support audits and ensure compliance standards are consistently met Identify and resolve operational issues quickly, ensuring sustainable improvements Drive continuous improvement, strengthening processes and preventing recurring issues Working at Origin 34 days’ holiday, including your birthday off and bank holidays Unlimited coffee and discounts on merchandise and partner products B Corp certified and proudly independent People-first culture with meaningful, values-led work SCA training and learning opportunities for everyone Enhanced family leave, sick pay, period leave, and personal days 5% employer pension contribution 24/7 Employee Assistance Programme and GP service Two paid volunteering days each year Everyone is welcome at Origin We believe diverse perspectives enrich our culture and creativity.
