Position Overview:
The role is for a Paralegal responsible for managing delegated work, assisting solicitors, and handling an independent caseload within the aviation practice. The position involves legal research, drafting, litigation support, and direct client interaction, with accountability for meeting performance and service standards.
Roles and Responsibilities:
* Manage delegated cases and report progress to the Head of Department
* Conduct legal research and remain updated on relevant legal developments
* Draft legal documents including pleadings, applications, and witness statements
* Handle civil litigation matters from initiation to conclusion
* Assist during hearings by preparing files, exhibits, and taking notes
* Liaise with courts, counsel, and clerks
* Prepare briefs and case materials
* Maintain accurate file management and case records using internal systems
* Communicate professionally with clients via email, calls, and correspondence
* Perform administrative duties such as billing and invoicing
* Gather and analyse evidence and legal materials relevant to cases
* Ensure compliance with internal policies and service quality standards
* Build and maintain professional relationships with clients and colleagues
* Collaborate effectively within the team while maintaining individual responsibility
Eligibility:
* Relevant legal qualification or paralegal experience
* Experience in civil litigation preferred
* Strong legal research and drafting skills
* Ability to manage an independent caseload efficiently
* Excellent organisational and time management skills
* Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
* Attention to detail and adherence to procedural compliance
* Familiarity with case management systems is an advantage
