About The Role JOB TITLE: Gateman REPORTING TO: Site Manager DIVISION: Building North LOCATION: Belfast (various city centre sites) CONTRACT TYPE: Fixed term contract BENEFITS: 35days annual leave, pension scheme, subsidised private medical cover, life assurance scheme more Job Summary: We are now recruiting for an experienced Gateman to join our Building division on an initial 12month fixed term contract (with potential to extend).As a Gateman, you will carry out instructions as directed by the Site Management Team to assist the delivery of the project work to the agreed quality, timescales and safety requirements. Please note: On occasion this role will require some flexible working hours and arrangements. Job Description Duties may include: Ensure all persons arriving on site sign in & out of the site compound Record and log all lorry movements on /off site Undertake general housekeeping duties and maintain a high standard of site cleanness within the site compound and Site Entrance, including litter pick around the area. Record all deliveries to site ensure they are safely offloaded and stored, then notify to correct persons on site Clean lorry wheels when leaving site daily, which involves physical lifting and general labour Ensure outside the site boundary is always kept pristine Collect materials from suppliers (driving licence / experience required to drive) Manage the site store, including organising stock and keeping accurate records. Ensure parking areas are maintained so not to affect public perception of the Project Maintain a good relationship with all stakeholders and always behave in a professional manner Undertake all duties as required in a reliable, flexible constructive manner This job description is intended to give the post holder an appreciation of the role envisaged and the range of duties to be undertaken. Technical Competencies Essential: Demonstrate a strong desire for the role Demonstrate an ability to work on own initiative Demonstrate strong communication skills and flexibility in working hours Possess a valid CSR Card Desirable Demonstrate a general knowledge of construction and maintenance works Sound administration skills with an understanding of the importance of paperwork Full UK Driving Licence Vehicle Marshalling training/ banksman training Behavioural Competencies Essential: Commercial awareness: relevant to the position applied for and understanding of why commercial awareness and business acumen are related and how these combine to meet customer needs and GRAHAM business requirements. Team working skills: Communicates well and shows commitment to work as part of a fully integrated team. Able to maintain and manage communication links with a variety of stakeholders. Presents a professional image and promotes the Brand. Customer Focus: Takes time to question and understand why customer needs are important and wants to forge ongoing sustainable links with customers to act in theirs and the businesses long term interest. Influencing: Identifies and builds relationships with those who will be useful now and in the future in achieving strategic business objectives.
