Overview
Join to apply for the Out of Hours Nurse-Bank role at Evora Hospice (formerly Southern Area Hospice Services). We are seeking to recruit a pool of nurses to work as part of the Hospice Out of Hours Nursing Team. They will provide a nursing service to patients with a cancer diagnosis who are at end of life, and offer support for their families. Shifts will be allocated based on availability. As this role involves lone working in patients’ homes, candidates must meet the following requirements.
Responsibilities
* Provide nursing care to patients with a cancer diagnosis who are at end of life.
* Support patients’ families and carers.
* Work as part of the Out of Hours Nursing Team and allocate shifts based on availability.
* Work independently in patients’ homes, demonstrating sound clinical judgment and patient safety.
Qualifications
* Be registered on Part 1 of the NMC register.
* Have at least two years’ post-registration experience.
* Live within 50 minutes travelling time (measured by Google Maps) of any address within the catchment area.
* Meet the additional criteria outlined in the full Job Description.
Payment Details
* Standard on-call payment: £100 per shift
* Initial call out: £60
* Any further call outs: £20 per call out
* Premiums: Paid on the £100 standard on-call element for Saturdays, Sundays, and SAHS-recognised bank holidays (as per Inpatient Unit guidelines)
* Shift cancelled due to no patients: £40 (4 hours' pay) if cancelled after 8pm
* Mileage: Claimed in line with the Expenses Policy at the HMRC rate (currently 45p per mile) for travel to and from patients’ homes
