An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Quality Inspector to join a small high performing design team in a long established, positive & growing manufacturing environment based in Bolton, Lancashire. Expansion into new market places and continuing investment in the factory requires expanded quality inspection resource to support these activities. Quality Inspector Responsibilities: Make sure that engineering and manufacturing processes are performed correctly using the right tools, materials, and processes. Proactive review and improvement of systems and processes to ensure the maintenance of standards Maintaining accurate quality documentation Working closely with manufacturing staff to ensure quality protocols are followed and documentation is correctly maintained and implement any new changes or adaptations based on a quality review Inspection and testing of various parts of manufacturing including products, components, processes, and comparing against predefined standards Check that employees are trained to the proper quality standard and that safety requirements are met throughout the production process. Analysing problems reported and developing improvements to overcome them Statistical analysis of manufacturing data and creation of reports for senior staff members based on quality documentation Working closely with external partners e.g. suppliers, customers, etc - Continuous improvement in the manufacturing process. To support QE in the co-ordination and completion of Gauge R&R / MSA activities. Be able to communicate findings effectively and clearly to the key stakeholders within the Manufacturing team. Support Warranty / Returns Process, providing Inspection support, performing Transactional activities of receipts and generation of reports. Skills and Experience: ISO 9001:2015 knowledge. Previously worked as a Quality Inspector Well versed in quality tools and methods, including but not limited to 8D, Ishikawa, 5-Why, SPC, Pareto, etc. Metrology, inspection methods, and equipment. Understanding and interpretation of engineering drawings. Understanding manufacturing processes. Planning and prioritizing activities and an ability to operate with a level of autonomy. Ability to present data accurately and effectively. Advantageous: Knowledge Lean / Six Sigma Experienced in the use of CMM, Faro gauge equipment
