Responsibilities
* Prescribe and review medication in accordance with evidence-based practice and national and local protocols.
* Identify and assess suitability of service users for in-patient alcohol and opioid detoxification.
* Assess physical and mental health needs.
* Proactively support the prevention, identification, and treatment of blood borne viruses.
* Support service users to adopt health promotion strategies that promote healthy lifestyles.
* Provide specialist prescribing and a range of clinical interventions within our substance use service, working in collaboration with the recovery caseworkers to deliver an effective, comprehensive package of care.
Requirements
* Be a qualified non-medical prescriber.
* Hold a valid NMC PIN and be registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council.
* Have at least one year's relevant and recent experience of working within substance use treatment.
* Demonstrate sound knowledge of clinical prescribing, harm reduction and health promotion interventions.
