Job Description
A well-known public sector organisation are currently seeking an experienced Senior Procurement Manager to lead key savings initiatives and deliver medium-complexity procurement projects across a diverse portfolio.
* Role: Senior Procurement Manager
* Duration: 12-month contract
* Pay: Up to £500 p/day (Inside IR35 via Umbrella)
* Location: London (2 days onsite)
This role this role combines 50% Savings Delivery & Commercial Optimisation and 50% End-to-End Procurement Project Management.
You'll drive tangible savings, shape commercial strategies, and manage a range of projects, predominantly within ICT, technical services, and cross-category areas.
Special Projects Delivery:
* Lead end-to-end procurement for a set of medium to high-profile projects
* Oversee or peer review support for cross category procurements.
* Manage SAP contract management activities, ensuring compliance and accurate documentation.
* Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders and technical teams to deliver compliant, value-driven outcomes.
* Navigate complex commercial, regulatory, and governance requirements within a public sector environment.
Savings & Commercial Delivery
* Support departmental savings targets through negotiation, commercial challenge, and opportunity identification across categories.
* Align savings delivery with Finance Business Partners (FBP) and report progress to the Head of Procurement - Technology, Collaboration & complex Transactions.
* Support in developing category strategies in partnership with the Heads of Procurement.
* Support in developing contract management plans for key strategic projects.
This is not a people-management role, but you will benefit from strong support from the wider permanent procurement team.
Key Requirements:
* Strong background in public sector procurement, ideally with PA23 experience.
* Broad, full lifecycle end-to-end procurement expertise across multiple categories (ICT experience helpful).
* Proven track record delivering complex, multi-stakeholder procurements.
* Skilled negotiator with experience driving savings and commercial value.
* Understanding of savings levers (cashable, non-cashable, CapEx, OpEx).
* Comfortable managing multiple high-priority projects simultaneously.
