A prestigious organisation in Bristol is seeking an experienced Contract Buyer to join their dynamic procurement team. This role offers the chance to play a key role in ensuring the seamless supply of materials and services essential to the organisation s manufacturing and engineering operations.
In this pivotal position, you will manage the procurement process from end to end - placing orders, evaluating suppliers, and conducting quality and efficiency reviews. Your work will directly contribute to the smooth running of operations and the company s overall success.
Key Responsibilities for Contract Buyer:
- Place purchase orders for materials and services in line with operational requirements
- Evaluate and select suppliers based on quality, cost, and reliability
- Conduct supplier performance reviews and ensure compliance with standards
- Collaborate with internal teams to align procurement activities with strategic goals
- Utilise Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems to manage procurement and inventory
- Ensure timely delivery of goods and services to support manufacturing and engineering schedules
Essential Requirements for the Contract Buyer:
- Proven experience working with MRP systems
- Strong background in manufacturing or engineering industries
- Excellent analytical and decision-making skills
- High attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
- Strong communication skills for effective liaison with suppliers and internal stakeholders
