The Role

Social Work England is the specialist body that regulates social workers in their vital role. Every day, social workers support millions of people to improve their chances in life. This role champions the value of co-production and influence attitudes to co-production as a way of achieving our organisational objectives.

The role will support the smooth running and co-ordination of our National Advisory Forum (NAF).

What you will do

* Assist in the smooth running of and co-ordination of the NAF and act as the first point of escalation for any issues related to the NAF, ensuring that they are resolved in an appropriate and timely way.
* Present and update on co-production projects across the business, including to ELT and senior managers, providing assurance of being on track.
* Managing issues, risks, interdependencies, and dependencies and providing possible mitigation and solutions across all co-production activity.
* Analyse and distil monthly directorate data to produce accessible, comprehensible reports to evidence trends and statistics. Feedback findings internally and externally to inform recommendations to improve our organisational performance.
* Work with the regional engagement leads to ensure there is a thread to our engagement work across England and share good practice between regions ensuring alignment with our approach to co-production.
* Work with internal departments to facilitate the co-production of their work with our key stakeholders.
* Maintain a constructive relationship between the Board and the NAF. Contribute towards the internal learning and awareness raising of internal staff regarding the social work profession and those with lived experience of social work.
* Communicate effectively on a regular basis with senior leaders, members of the NAF, colleagues in the directorate and partners outside of the organisation.
* Represent Social Work England in external forums, including the inter-regulatory patient and public involvement group, and establish Social Work England as a credible sector leader in embedding co-production in a regulatory body.

Your Skills, Knowledge And Experience

* A track record of respectful, open and honest behaviour including a demonstrable commitment to inclusion and diversity.
* Strong interpersonal skills to build effective relationships with colleagues, partners and other stakeholders across all levels, while maintaining clear boundaries and appropriate conduct
* A track record of engaging and co-producing with communities and professionals.
* Experience of facilitating groups and leading meetings.
* Excellent project management skills with a positive attitude to problem-solving and working with ambiguity.
* The ability to work on your own initiative and demonstrate flexibility in the application of the role.
* The ability to make decisions autonomously regarding standard engagement processes
* Ability to identify when to seek guidance and support around decisions that should be shared (taking in to account the potential impact for colleagues and external partners)
* A strong team player that enjoys working collaboratively to deliver results, maintaining progress on multiple projects at any one time.
* Excellent organisation and time-management skills and the ability to manage several different tasks while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
* Strong IT skills with good working knowledge of Office 365.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills.

* Job type: Permanent
* Working pattern: Full time. We offer flexible working subject to business need.
* Salary: £32,932 per year, rising to £35,285 per year after successful completion of a 6-month probationary period.
