Job Overview
IT Infrastructure Technician Apprentice position within an IT organisation who will provide Infrastructure and Application support across the UK. Tasks will be varied and interesting with every opportunity to progress. The apprentice will be part of a small internal team which will provide IT services to our wider teams.
Responsibilities
* Working towards being one of the first points of contact for onsite required infrastructure and desktop support services
* Monitor and progress support calls logged within the IT helpdesk application
* Perform basic troubleshooting and diagnosis for issues using technical resources and monitoring tools available
* Supporting end users, logging on remotely to machines to resolve technical issues
* Completing laptop and desktop installations
* Gain experience in Microsoft O365 tenant management and the application suite (SharePoint, Outlook, Word, Excel etc)
* Gain experience in telephony in particular cloud based phone systems configuration and management
* Gain experience in networking, including an in depth understanding of TCP/IP and related services
* Exposure to IT security approaches, tools and managing incidents
Experience
* 3 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grades A - C (grade 4 – 9) in any subject
* Good communication and relationship building skills
* Problem solving and analysis
* Willingness to learn new skills
* A team player, with a positive and enthusiastic approach to work
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Solid organisational skills including attention to detail and multitasking
* Customer focused, good with people
* Proficient in using IT applications with experience of using Microsoft Office
