Duties as an Early Years Teaching Assistant:
1. Support the class teacher and Early Years staff in delivering a stimulating, play-based curriculum.
2. Help create a warm, safe, and engaging environment where every child feels valued and secure.
3. Assist with children’s social, emotional, and physical development.
4. Support toileting, personal care, and meal/snack times as needed.
5. Observe and record children’s progress in line with the EYFS framework.
6. Communicate effectively with colleagues, children, and parents/carers.
Ideal Early Years Teaching Assistant:
1. A relevant Early Years qualification (e.g., Level 2 or 3 in Childcare or Early Years Education) – essential.
2. Experience working in a nursery or Early Years setting.
3. A kind, calm, and responsive approach to supporting young learners.
4. Knowledge of the EYFS framework and safeguarding practices as a Nursery Teaching Assistant.
5. A good team player who is flexible, reliable, and enthusiastic.
