Job Summary

Are you interested in starting a career in IT but need some help to get started? Dorset HealthCare University NHS Foundation Trust is hiring a full-time, permanent Junior IT Service Desk Analyst to join our dedicated and hardworking IT Service Desk team, working 37.5 hours per week. This entry‑level position is designed for motivated individuals who are new to the IT industry and possess a basic understanding of IT. It's ideal for enthusiastic, customer‑focused candidates looking to develop their skills in a dynamic and fast‑paced support environment. You will support approximately 8,000 users, deliver first‑time fixes, and contribute to patient care, all while gaining valuable IT knowledge and experience with a wide range of systems and technologies. Comprehensive on‑the‑job training will be provided at our offices in Boscombe, Dorset, to help you build your skills. When applying, please ensure you include evidence demonstrating how you meet all the essential criteria of this role in the supporting information section of the online application.

Job Responsibilities

Please review the attached job description and person specification for the main duties and responsibilities of this role. When completing your application, make sure your supporting statement addresses the criteria outlined in these documents by demonstrating how your experience and skills are relevant to this position. We understand that using AI can be a useful and supportive tool when completing your application. However, we have also seen an increase in the over‑reliance of AI tools which is negatively impacting applications as they remove candidates' individuality, and it becomes much harder to get a sense of who you are and your authentic experience. If you do use AI, it should be used to enhance your application and not to create your supporting statement in its entirety. If we suspect you have used AI to create your supporting statement and this does not match your experience, we may withdraw your application. As part of our vision to have a skilled, diverse and caring workforce, Dorset HealthCare offers support for people getting into work. We offer an employability service to support individuals with application writing, interview skills and other employment support. If you would like or know of anyone who would value this support, please do contact.
