A respected regional contractor is seeking amercial Manager to lead theirmercial function across multiple live projects in Yorkshire. This is a key strategic role, offering long‑term stability and genuine progression.
The Role
Asmercial Manager, you will oversee themercial and contractual performance of a portfolio of construction schemes, ensuring financial control, risk management, and profitability. Working closely with the senior leadership team, you’ll drivemercial excellence and ensure best practice is adopted across the business.
Key Responsibilities
Lead themercial function across several construction projects
Manage project finances, budgets, cost plans, valuations, CVRs, and forecasting
Oversee subcontract procurement, tender analysis, and contract negotiations
Work closely with project teams to support delivery, resolve issues, and manage risk
Ensurepliance with contractual obligations, legislation, andpany processes
Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to QS teams at all levels
Produce accurate financial reports and board‑levelmercial updates
Drive continuous improvement acrossmercial operations and cost management
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and partners
About You
Proven experience as a Senior QS ormercial Manager within the construction sector
Strongmercial and contractual knowledge (JCT/NEC)
Ability to manage budgets, risk, and financial reporting across multiple projects
Excellent negotiation, leadership, andmunication skills
Experience supporting project teams from tender through to final account
Strong analytical thinking and the ability to managepeting deadlines
Relevant qualifications (RICS desirable but not essential)
