An opportunity has arisen in our Product Development and Innovation team and we are looking for a Product Developer to join us at Bettys Craft Bakery where we develop and improve, make, bake and distribute, our much-loved Bettys products that delight our customers and uphold our Swiss Yorkshire heritage. As a Product Developer you will be responsible for the end-to-end process of developing and launching new and existing catering, retail, and bakery products, as well as raw materials. Ensuring every product meets our craft standards, commercial and operational goals. Working closely with development, production, and quality teams to deliver products that consistently delight our customers. This role will support product/menu development timelines, collaborating across departments to ensure all products are delivered on time and within schedule. It wil also trial and approve new raw materials and processes prior to bakery launch and coordinate initial production runs for new products, offering training and expert guidance as needed. About you - Excellent in-depth technical food knowledge of ingredients and Bakery techniques Practical experience of product development processes (make and bake) and an excellent understanding of the key requirements needed to develop a product from a new idea through to the finished products NVQ or City & Guilds Bakery Diploma - Level 3 plus or equivalent The candidate must be able to demonstrate high levels of skills and craft throughout their experience Qualified in Food Safety Level 2 and a good sound understanding of food safety and health and safety Excellent skills with Microsoft office and are willing to use and learn other software systems.
