Trainee Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner - Tamworth
The post holder will work within the service while undertaking a programme of training at Newman University in Birmingham. The training will progressively teach delivery of low intensity cognitive‑behavioural interventions at high volume for patients with anxiety and depression disorders. The role includes extensive clinical and caseload supervision.
Main duties
* Screen, triage and assess referrals.
* Provide a combination of face‑to‑face and remote low intensity interventions.
* Deliver interventions to patients with common mental health problems such as depression and anxiety.
* Split time between university attendance and service work.
* After qualification, seek BABCP or BPS accreditation.
Qualifications
* Postgraduate Certificate (M Level) route or Graduate Certificate route.
* Relevant degree in a subject such as nursing, social work, AHPs, or equivalent.
* Advanced level GCEs (A‑C) or equivalent qualifications (e.g., B‑tec, GNVQ, NVQ Level 3 and 4).
Experience
* Experience working with adults who have experienced common mental health difficulties.
* Ability to inspire, engage, and identify barriers for clients.
* High standards of written and verbal communication, including telephone skills.
* Evaluate and implement skills and knowledge gained through training.
