Laboratory Technician
Location: University of East Anglia International Study Centre
Salary: £14.36 per hour
Band: C
Contract Type: Zero-Hour
Closing Date: 28th October
We’re looking for a proactive and enthusiastic Laboratory Technician to join our friendly team at University of East Anglia International Study Centre. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys hands‑on work in a science environment and would like to gain experience supporting teaching and learning at university level.
In this role, you’ll play an important part in helping our Foundation Science and Newton A Level students get the most out of their studies. You’ll support staff in preparing and setting up laboratory sessions, maintaining resources and equipment, and ensuring that the labs are safe, well‑organised and fully stocked. You’ll also work closely with the Facilities team and academic staff to keep everything running smoothly behind the scenes.
We’re looking for someone who is reliable, organised and has a genuine interest in science education. You’ll have experience of working in a laboratory environment, a good understanding of health and safety practices, and confidence handling chemicals and equipment. A degree or Level 4 qualification in a relevant scientific subject would be ideal, but we’re equally interested in your practical experience, enthusiasm and willingness to learn.
This is a term‑time focused role, offering a great opportunity to gain further experience in a supportive academic setting. Full training, including First Aid and COSHH, will be provided.
