An SME in the building services industry is looking for an experienced Credit Controller to join the existing team in Sandbach. This is a full-time role; however, a part-time role would be considered (5 short days per week (pro rata salary)).
Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will be monitoring and maintaining all customer accounts, ensuring limits are not exceeded and customer pays to terms, across all companies.
The successful Credit Controller will be responsible for:
* Chasing overdue debt in line with agreed payment terms
* Monitoring customer credit worthiness and maintaining set limits
* Ensuring the inhouse system is kept up to date with Credit Limits, Status & Customer Account Contact Details
* Ensuring customers pay to agreed terms and take appropriate action where they do not
* Allocating payments on the customers' accounts
* Performing checks on new and existing accounts in accordance with each company policy and within the rules of any Credit Insurance Policy
* Following-up customer queries and resolving in a timely manner
* Producing a stop-list of unpaid accounts by specified Working Day
* Referring accounts that are unpaid by set day of month to the Financial Controller
* Raising manual invoices for recharges, rent, asset sales, etc.
* Reconciling inter-company accounts
* Raising credit notes within set timescales in accordance with each company policy and authorisation
* Ensuring customer statements issued by the set deadline
* Carrying out other duties as deemed necessary, which are within the job holders' capability
Were looking for a Credit Controller with:
* Previous experience working in a medium to large company
* Previous experience of working with multi companies and currencies
* A flexible approach is necessary as work within the function may be reallocated as circumstances demand
* General bookkeeping experience would be an advantage
* Ability to work to deadlines & to work as part of a team is essential
* Must be proficient in Sage Line 50 Accounts
* Full working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook is essential
* Prior knowledge of Kerridge would be advantageous although full training will be given
This role would also be suitable for a Finance Assistant who has knowledge/experience of Credit Control.
