The Endoscopy team is delighted to offer a fantastic opportunity for a committed Nurse to work on the specialised Endoscopy Unit (22.5 hrs fixed for 12 months and 37.5 hrs permanent posts available). Previous endoscopy experience would be advantageous.
Endoscopy is a demanding environment that constantly modernises to deliver high quality services within current healthcare demands. It offers an exciting opportunity to develop personally and professionally.
The unit is open Mon – Fri 8am – 8pm. Sat – Sun 8-6pm, and supports on‑call cover.
Responsibilities
* Ensure a high standard of care for patients undergoing procedures
* Work with medical staff and other members of the health care team to ensure that treatments are carried out within agreed policies
* Maintain accurate records of observation, treatment and patient care
* Provide supervision to members of the team
Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience
* Qualified Nurse (Degree/Diploma)
* Registered nurse on appropriate part of the register
* Knowledge of current issues within acute Health Service
* Understanding of personal accountability
* Knowledge of own role within the team
* Evidence of teaching and supporting learners in practice in the role of practice supervisor
* Awareness of evidence‑based practice
* Awareness of responsibilities for management of infection control
* Evidence of ongoing personal development
* Able to use initiative
Desirable Experience
* Evidence of recent study
* Previous experience/qualification in relevant specialty
* Teaching experience
