Job Title : Pharmacist Independent Prescriber (GP Surgery Placement)
Location : Smethwick West Midlands
Contract Type : Fixed-term (6 months)
Start Date : 16th June 2025
Working Pattern : Part-time (20 hours per week)
Days Required : Mondays Wednesdays Fridays
Hourly Rate : 3840 per hour (DOE)
Role Overview
We are currently seeking a Pharmacist Independent Prescriber (PIP) to join our GP surgery team in Smethwick on a 6-month contract. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified and experienced pharmacist to contribute to patient care in a well-supported primary care environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct medication reviews for patients with acute and long‑term conditions
* Provide v300 prescribing in accordance with clinical need and scope of practice
* Work collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team (MDT) to support safe and effective prescribing
* Maintain accurate patient records in line with local policy and GMC / GPhC guidance
* Contribute to quality improvement initiatives where appropriate
Requirements
* GPhC‑registered Pharmacist Independent Prescriber
* Recent experience in a primary care or GP surgery setting preferred
* Competence in medication review and autonomous prescribing (v300)
* Strong communication and clinical decision‑making skills
* Familiarity with EMIS Web (desirable but not essential)
