Overview
Middlesex University is seeking a dynamic and proactive Faculty Marketing Officer to act as the key marketing business partner for an assigned academic faculty. Reporting to the Faculty Marketing Manager, the role aligns the University's Student Recruitment, Marketing & Communications directorate with faculty priorities, student recruitment targets and academic strengths. This position supports the faculty in achieving its student recruitment objectives across undergraduate, postgraduate and non-standard provision, including CPD programmes and apprenticeships. The officer will develop an in-depth understanding of the faculty's subject portfolio, competitive landscape and target audiences to inform tailored, data-driven marketing and recruitment plans that enhance brand positioning, student engagement and reputation.
Key Responsibilities
* Act as the primary liaison between the directorate and faculty, building strong relationships with academic and professional services colleagues and coordinating marketing activity to align with institutional goals.
* Collaborate with directorate teams (digital, CRM, web, content and PR) to produce and deliver integrated marketing and recruitment plans at faculty, department and course level.
* Develop CRM campaigns aligned with faculty priorities to maximise impact across the prospective student journey.
* Act as the principal source of marketing content for the faculty, producing copy tailored to audiences and channels; manage production of online and offline marketing materials; oversee website content; coordinate content on third-party platforms.
* Identify stories with PR potential and liaise with the PR team to enhance visibility and reputation.
* Use data and market insight to inform planning, set measurable KPIs and report on effectiveness of marketing activities; monitor competitor activity and use insights to strengthen market presence.
* Coordinate and advise on the faculty's presence at Open Days, Offer Holder Days and other recruitment-focused events (in-person and online); make recommendations to maximise impact and ensure events are leveraged for marketing and recruitment benefit.
* Manage relationships with partners and third parties linked to course provision and marketing within the faculty; produce activity reports for faculty stakeholders; share best practice with other Faculty Marketing Officers for joint initiatives.
Additional Context
In collaboration with events and recruitment teams, and as part of the role, maintain alignment with institutional goals and ensure marketing activity is cohesive with the faculty's strategic aims.
