Could you be our new Production Manager to work on-site at Alstom's Wembley Traincare Centre?

Your future role

Alstom is seeking a Production Manager to join our team at the Wembley Traincare Centre, with occasional travel to other sites as required. The successful candidate will report directly to the Senior Production Manager.

The main objective of this role is to ensure production targets, quality standards, and safety requirements are met through effective management of the production plan and resources. The Production Manager will ensure that trains are delivered on time, in a safe, clean, and fully operational condition to our customers.

We'll look to you to:

1. Manage the Production Teams, including Workshops and Wheel Lathe Teams.
2. Monitor and control production on a shift-by-shift basis.
3. Clearly define and delegate responsibilities for production tasks.
4. Identify personnel requirements based on budgeted workloads, ensuring flexibility and high productivity.
5. Drive organisational change to optimise working practices and enhance workforce productivity.
6. Ensure all production complies with safety and quality standards, including internal standards, customer specifications, and Network Rail requirements.
7. Monitor working practices to ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
8. Identify training and resource needs to facilitate effective production.
9. Ensure all work adheres to the Health and Safety at Work Act and Alstom Policies and Procedures.
10. Review work plans with Production Controllers to meet daily production targets efficiently.
11. Maintain positive industrial relations and implement disciplinary procedures for serious staff irregularities.
12. Identify improvement opportunities through analysis of incident reports and complaints.
13. Ensure IT systems, such as Systems, Applications, and Products in Data Processing (SAP), Total Asset Control Tool (TACT), Rail Vehicle Event Reporting System (RAVERS), and General Engineering Management Information and Networking Initiative (GEMINI), are updated regarding completed work.
14. Control, issue, and update job times as necessary.
15. Plan and manage leave entitlement for Production Team Members in line with the Business Plan.
16. Promote continual professional development for staff.
17. Manage and prioritise the teams' workloads in accordance with Traincare Centre requirements, including isolations, validation of completed service orders, quality assurance, adherence to safety compliance measures, and management of team rosters and attendance.
