Role: Lecturer – Multi Skills (Construction Built Environment and Sustainability)

Primarily you will work with a range of students at Level 1 on full‑time study programmes, and potentially with Level 2 Apprentices who are working toward the Apprenticeship Standard in Property Maintenance. You may also be required to support the curriculum area where necessary in the delivery of specific trades.
You will be expected to provide young learners with an effective foundation to start their careers in a construction setting, with the intent to guide them into their specific chosen progression pathway.
The Units of Delivery may vary in accordance with the skill set of the tutor but will include (but not be limited to) topics such as:
This role requires you to deliver high‑quality, learner‑focused education, providing a quality learning experience for our students. You will develop the curriculum and implement teaching and learning strategies that enable our students to succeed and thrive in their chosen subject area.
You are an experienced all‑round tradesperson with experience in the construction industry, having worked in a wide range of occupational activities, and qualified to an appropriate level (ideally Level 3 NVQ, Level 2 NVQ considered). Ideally, you have a strong verifiable history of property maintenance or development to demonstrate the range of your abilities. You have experience working with young people in an educational setting, and ideally hold Level 4 in Teaching and Learning (Cert Ed), although NQT status will be considered.
Ideally you are conversant with current legislation relating to the safeguarding of children and young people in an educational setting, have experience working with potentially challenging learners or learners with specific needs, and are proficient in using learner management systems and processes. You are willing to undertake continuous professional development to maintain high standards of support and guidance.
You should be comfortable using computer systems, especially Microsoft software, and a strong team player who can communicate well with others, demonstrate respect for and support towards peers, and thrive in a busy working environment. You have a resilient, “can‑do” attitude to challenges.
