The purpose of this role is to lead and support the drafting, implementation, and review of legislation. The post holder will provide advice to stakeholders, Department for Transport (DfT) officials, and lawyers, including interpreting legislation that underpins DVSA's responsibilities. The post holder will actively manage relationships within the DfT family and across Government to ensure strategic alignment and maximize benefits.
This role includes line management responsibilities. We value great line management and will support managers to develop essential skills. Our goal is to empower managers to create teams where individuals can thrive and deliver excellent outcomes for the public.
This is a varied and positively challenging role requiring adaptability and flexibility to adjust priorities while maintaining strategic direction.
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
* Collaborating with Service Managers and Product Managers, and liaising with DVSA Enforcement.
* Engaging with DfT to complete and clear all relevant regulatory processes.
* Working with internal and external stakeholders to implement regulatory changes efficiently, managing expectations, and providing guidance to senior stakeholders and service managers.
* Reviewing DVSA change proposals to assess their impact on policy, legislation, enforcement, and fees.
* Drafting requests for legal advice, optimizing the use of lawyers’ time and resources.
