James Ray Recruitment is seeking a dedicated and passionate SEND Teacher to provide high-quality 1:1 tutoring and teaching to young people with SEND and additional needs at a secondary SEND school based in Wirral. This is a fantastic opportunity for a compassionate and creative practitioner who is committed to transforming educational outcomes for vulnerable learners.
This full-time role begins in January 2026 and is expected to continue for the full academic year. For the right candidate, a permanent contract is highly likely.
About the Role
You will work closely with young people who present with a range of learning needs, delivering personalised, engaging, and trauma-informed teaching to support their academic and emotional development. The successful candidate will play a key role in raising engagement levels and positively shaping each learner’s educational journey.
Ideal Candidate Profile
We are looking for someone who:

Has experience teaching within an SEN setting

Holds QTS (or is currently working towards it) and a relevant PGCE
*
Has experience working with vulnerable young people or within an educational environment
*
Can inspire, motivate, and build positive relationships with young learners
*
Shows empathy, patience, and a strong understanding of individual SEND needs
*
Maintains high expectations for behaviour, progress, and achievement
