A fantastic opportunity has become available for a Medical HR Manager to join the People Directorate at Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust.
Join us and take a leading role in developing our workforce as we in Buckinghamshire start our journey as one of eight Integrated Care Systems (ICS) in the country. Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust is a key partner in the Buckinghamshire system and the next few months will see us lead the way in developing new models of care as we strive to meet our ambition of being one of the safest healthcare systems in the country.
To succeed you will need to have demonstrable customer focus, experience of leading on Medical workforce issues, dealing with complex employee relations including change management, resourcing and workforce planning expertise at a transactional and strategic level. Innovative in your approach, you will understand how Medical HR adds value, will develop effective solutions and fully engage with senior leaders and other stakeholders to support the delivery of our transformation agenda.
Your main base will be in High Wycombe with some travel across sites. We operate a hybrid model of on site and home working.

Main duties of the job
The Medical HR Manager will report directly to the Assistant Director of HR and will be responsible for the provision and delivery of a high quality professional and responsive Medical Staffing and HR function in the Trust, providing strategic advice and guidance on the full range of workforce issues, including employee relations, recruitment and retention, attendance, change management, workforce planning, talent management, terms and conditions of employment and policies and procedures

Person specification
Education
Essential criteria
1. Degree level education or equivalent.
2. Graduate MCIPD member; relevant postgraduate qualification or equivalent experience
3. Up to date knowledge of employment law and best practice
4. An understanding of core employment policies and practices to enable the training and coaching of others
Experience
Essential criteria
5. Significant generalist HR management experience in a large, complex and unionised organisation.
6. Demonstrable experience of independently managing highly complex and sensitive ER cases
7. Demonstrable experience of supporting ER panels, including appeals
8. Experience of acting as a change agent, working proactively to make departmental and organisational change happen.
Desirable criteria
9. Experience of policy consultation, development & implementation.
10. Demonstrable experience of being HR lead on employment tribunal cases
11. Experience of working within the NHS in a senior HR role
12. Experience of working with NHS Medical & Dental terms and conditions of service
