Staffline are working in partnership with a specialist manufacturer of mobility lift solutions based in Carrickfergus, who are seeking a Production Manager to join their team and to lead their manufacturing operations Salary: £35k-£40k dependant on experience Benefits: Competitive salary and benefits package A supportive and inclusive working environment Opportunities for professional development and career progression The chance to contribute to life-changing products that improve mobility and independence Job Role and Key Responsibilities: Oversee daily production activities, ensuring timely delivery of product to specification and quality standards. Lead and manage a team of production supervisors, technicians, and assembly staff. Develop and implement production schedules, resource plans, and workflow optimisations. Ensure compliance with health and safety standards, particularly in relation to mechanical and electrical assembly. Collaborate with design, quality, installation and service teams to resolve production issues and support product development. Monitor and report on key production metrics (e.g., output, efficiency, downtime, quality). Drive continuous improvement initiatives using lean manufacturing and 5S principles. Manage inventory levels and coordinate with procurement to ensure material availability. Support training and development of production staff to maintain a skilled and motivated workforce. Essential Criteria: Proven experience as a Production Manager or similar role in a light engineering or mechanical/electromechanical manufacturing environment. Strong leadership and team management skills, ideally with experience managing 50 staff. Solid understanding of mechanical assembly, electrical systems, and safety-critical manufacturing. Familiarity with mobility aids, lifting equipment, or similar regulated products is highly desirable. Proficient in production planning tools and ERP systems. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organisational skills. Degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field (preferred). Desirable Skills Experience in manufacturing products for the healthcare or accessibility sector. Knowledge of ISO 9001, CE/UKCA marking, and relevant safety standards (e.g., EN 81-41). Training in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.
