Maintenance Worker Role
To carry out day-to-day maintenance on the fabric of the building, its services, and grounds to ensure the Care Home is maintained in a safe and efficient manner.
Report and address any known defects in appliances, damaged furniture/equipment, and potential hazards to the Home Manager.
Test the alarm system weekly, log results, and check call points, fire exits, door retaining devices, and fire emergency lights as per company procedures.
Liaise with the Home Manager or delegated staff regarding maintenance work.
Undertake driving duties if required, limiting trips to necessary mileage, e.g., planning to reduce frequent visits to GPs.
Be on call for emergencies outside working hours.
Candidate Requirements
* Previous experience in a similar maintenance role, with knowledge of minor electrical, plumbing, and joinery works.
* Knowledge of current Health and Safety regulations.
* Good communication skills and a confident team player.
* Clean driving license and ability to use a vehicle.
* Willingness to receive training on health, safety, fire, and EHO issues.
* Satisfactory DBS check and clearance against the ISA list.
* Ability to work independently.
