MOSAIC MINISTRY OVERVIEW
St. Luke’s Mosaic Ministry provides children, youth and adults with a safe, comfortable, and affirming environment to allow for grow spiritually and connect with the larger St. Luke’s UMC community.

YOUTH MINISTRY OVERVIEW
St. Luke’s Youth Ministry serves students in 5th-12th grade, college students, and their families. On Sunday mornings, we have a few different program options for Middle School and High School youth. Outside of Sunday morning, we have events and activities to help students connect on a broader level.
SCOPE OF WORK
Dates: Daily of June 16th – June 20th from 8:45am – 5:00pm
Pay: $650 / Week

POSITION OVERVIEW
This position will be a support role during Middle School Mayhem from 8:45am-5:00pm the week of June 16-20, 2025. This individual will assist as needed with youth campers who have special needs. This may include offering breaks, supporting reading tasks, utilizing de-escalation behavior strategies, and offering support to overcome any barriers for youth with physical needs. Special needs of campers in attendance may include ADHD, anxiety, autism, use of mobility devices, or hard of hearing.
Middle School Mayhem is an inclusive experience with the goal of all campers being integrated together with their same-aged peers. This position will be used to help all youth campers have the most meaningful and inclusive experience throughout the event. The Mosaic support professional will serve as bridge between students with special needs and the programming for the week. Upon hire, the Mosaic Ministry Director and Youth Ministry Director will support onboarding and review of student needs.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
* Support youth as needed with inclusion of participation in all activities with same age peers as defined by the Youth Ministry and Mosaic Ministry Director.
* Communicate with adult staff and volunteers to anticipate needs of youth campers.
* Communicate with the Youth Ministry Staff and Mosaic Director during the event with any necessary updates and concerns regarding specific individuals’ needs.
* Read and abide by the Safe Sanctuaries Policies.
* Read and abide by the St. Luke’s Behavioral Crisis Policies and Standard Operating Procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS
* Preferred experiences in education, health care, social services or has personal family experience.
* Complete and pass a criminal background check.
* Must have a working cell phone.
* Must be able to lift 50lbs for possible seating / toilet transfers and sit on the floor with youth as needed.
* Attend a Safe Sanctuaries Training course provided by St. Luke’s UMC Staff prior to event(s).
* Attend a CPI training course provided by St. Luke’s UMC Staff prior to event(s).
* Attend a training session overviewing expectations and strategies on supporting individuals with special needs including behavioral support strategies.
