The Role
This is a hands-on security engineering role, site-based, providing high-level technical expertise in the installation, maintenance, and management of security systems. You will ensure client satisfaction remains at the highest level whilst working as part of a close-knit engineering team.
The successful candidate will bring strong technical knowledge of security system architecture alongside proven hands-on experience deploying, integrating, and maintaining CCTV and Access Control solutions. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure all systems meet the highest industry standards — optimised for reliability, scalability, and security.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide technical input on security systems and software, advising on new technologies and upgrade opportunities.
* On-site, hands-on installation of physical security systems including locks, readers, and cameras.
* Daily fault finding and maintenance support, assisting service engineers as required.
* Liaise with Engineering teams and Project Managers to oversee project installations through to successful, timely completion.
* Work closely with the Maintenance Manager on technical challenges and queries.
* Document up-to-date processes and procedures for installation, advising on best practices and evolving with new technologies.
* Utilise CCTV and networking knowledge for security specifications, fault finding, and proposing upgrades.
* Attend site meetings with clients and suppliers as required.
* Quality check apprentice engineers' installation works and sign off on completed projects.
* Train and mentor junior engineers, supporting them through to competence and confidence.
* Continually expand knowledge of the electronic security systems industry, including new and emerging products and techniques.
Experience & Qualifications
* Minimum 7 years' experience in the Security industry.
* Solid IT and IP networking experience.
* Hands-on Access Control and CCTV experience — essential.
* Completion of a security systems apprenticeship — desirable.
