What the job is
CPI is looking for someone who is positive, outgoing, upbeat and a natural leader. The ideal candidate will be quick to connect with others and able to establish and maintain working relationships with others while building rapport and clientele. The Fleet Operations Manager will lead a team of established employees following safety guidelines, create and implement strategies that improve efficiency and mobile assets utilization and align CPI’s operational and financial goals. This person will analyze mobile asset utilization data to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement, leveraging insights to drive decision-making while maintaining accurate mobile asset inventory records and managing relationships with suppliers, carriers and service providers. The Fleet Operations Manager will negotiate contracts to secure favorable terms and ensure reliable partnerships as well as train, mentor and lead team members emphasizing safety, accountability and continuous improvement. CPI is a safety minded company thus such policies must be followed.
Responsibilities
* Lead a team of employees and ensure adherence to safety guidelines.
* Develop and implement strategies to improve efficiency and utilization of mobile assets.
* Analyze asset utilization data to identify bottlenecks and opportunities for improvement.
* Maintain accurate mobile asset inventory records.
* Manage relationships with suppliers, carriers and service providers; negotiate contracts for favorable terms.
* Train, mentor and lead team members with a focus on safety, accountability and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration or related field or three years of equivalent experience and/or training or a combination of education and comparable experience working in transportation or logistics management, preferably in agriculture or a related industry.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills with a focus on customer service.
* Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis tools.
* Proven leadership and team management abilities with a focus on safety and employee development.
* Working knowledge of business computer skills (Microsoft Office, accounting, database and internet software).
* Excellent negotiation and communication skills for managing vendor and stakeholder relationships.
* Strong business acumen; time management, planning, organization and decision-making skills.
* Knowledge of DOT regulations, safety standards and agricultural logistics.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to seasonal demands.
