Job Description
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Transport Manager will be responsible for leading a busy transport team, managing a fleet, and ensuring all deliveries are completed accurately, on time, and in line with safety and compliance standards.Key responsibilities include:
3. Managing day-to-day transport operations across multiple shifts.
4. Leading and developing a team of drivers, supervisors, and planners.
5. Ensuring legal compliance with all transport regulations, including driver hours, vehicle maintenance, and health & safety standards.
6. Optimising routes and schedules to maximise efficiency and reduce costs.
7. Monitoring KPIs to drive continuous improvement in delivery performance.
8. Collaborating with other departments to ensure smooth operational coordination.
The Successful Applicant
The ideal candidate will be based in Slough and have a strong background in transport management within a time-sensitive, customer-focused industry. You will be an effective leader with excellent organisational skills and the ability to deliver results in a fast-paced environment.You will bring:
9. Proven experience in transport or fleet management.
10. CPC qualification (National/International) is essential.
11. Strong people management skills with the ability to motivate teams.
12. In-depth knowledge of transport legislation and compliance.
13. Analytical mindset with a focus on process improvement.
14. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills (Essential)
