About the Role
We are seeking an exceptional Director of Communications and External Affairs. This high‑profile, high‑accountability role belongs to the Management Executive and requires strong judgement, credibility and leadership.
Responsibilities
* Act as expert counsel to the Board and executive team on communications, reputation and external affairs.
* Set, implement and deliver the communications strategy aligned to the Trust's objectives and values.
* Lead the Communications function, ensuring high‑quality, professional and trusted strategic and operational support.
* Engage with local and national stakeholders, including parliamentary audiences, using strategic media and communication channels.
* Provide calm, authoritative advice in planned programmes and high‑pressure situations.
* Build on existing foundations to develop capability, confidence and resilience for the future.
Requirements
* Strong leadership and judgement in external communications.
* Demonstrated experience in managing stakeholder engagement at local and national levels.
* Experience in reputation management and strategic use of media.
* Ability to operate at senior executive level and to influence decision‑making.
* For non‑Student visa holders: either have applied for a Graduate visa or have completed your course and applied for a Graduate visa before the anticipated start date.
