About the role

You will provide technical support to the manufacturing unit, carrying out tool changes and machine setting, safely and efficiently, following company work instructions and procedures. You will also Ensure that quality items are produced in line with the company standards, on time and in full.
You will report to the Production Manager and the working hours are dependent on department.
Shifts will consist of 3 week rotating shift (6am-2pm, 2pm-10pm, 10pm-6am)
Key Job Accountabilities
As part of the Technician Team you’ll be responsible for…
* Carry out tool changes and setting for plastics moulding machinery (Injection Moulding).
* Fault finding on machinery, identifying mechanical faults, set up issues, ancillary equipment settings and production quality issues.
* Report to your Supervisor when any machines are stopped for any reason other than tool changes. Report all machine faults if they cannot be cured or are affecting production and agree a suitable course of action.
* Raise maintenance works orders detailing any machine faults to the maintenance department.
* Carry out regular safety checks on all machines and equipment and take appropriate action to deal with any non- compliance.
* Ensure at every QC check that all visual & functional checks are carried out carefully & in accordance with procedures.
* Always inform your supervisor when a product is not to specification and discuss and carry out appropriate corrective / remedial action.
* Ensure all production checks & documentation are completed properly.
* Carry out Post -Production Quality Check in accordance to correct work instructions

* Ensure that tool changes, colour changes etc., are carried out in accordance with the training procedure as laid down by the Manager/Technical supervisor or relevant work instructions.
* Ensure the machines are running correctly and safely at all times in accordance with the Injection programme.
* Ensure that all machines are always running with the correct materials.
* All check/log sheets and pallet labels should be filled out clearly and correctly with all relevant information.
* Ensure that line clearances are carried out at every change over in line with company procedures.
* Ensure that your work area is kept safe, clean, and tidy during and at the end of the shift.
* Ensure all duties are carried out in accordance with current legislation and company procedures, particularly but not exclusively regarding Health and Safety, Quality and Environment Management

Qualifications/Requirements
Technical qualification: Minimum Level 2 in Engineering/ Vehicle Maintenance or similar / equivalent
Clear and proven competence of recent work in a technical role in an engineering environment, E.G. Motor Mechanic, vehicle technician, Machinist, service engineer or similar
A logical and methodical approach to problem solving/fault finding issues
Ability to work on own initiative to achieve objectives and taking responsibility for work/action undertaken
Confident in challenging existing practices in a positive manner, and looking for continuous improvement in all areas of work
Ability to undertake duties in every respect as laid out in the job description (further to training if required).
Conscientious and thorough in all aspects of work responsibilities, and has a professional approach to work
