* Oversee energy performance across buildings, assets, and operations, identifying opportunities for energy reduction, demand optimisation, and cost avoidance.
* Lead energy audits, performance reviews, and feasibility studies for energy efficiency and low‑carbon initiatives.
* Manage energy data, metering strategies, and reporting frameworks to ensure accurate monitoring and informed decision‑making.

Commercial & Financial Management

* Lead energy cost analysis, forecasting, and budgeting (including OPEX and business case development).
* Support procurement strategies for utilities, renewable energy, and energy services, ensuring value for money and risk mitigation.
* Develop and present robust investment appraisals for energy and carbon reduction projects.

Stakeholder & Client Management

* Act as a senior point of contact for clients and internal leadership, providing clear, credible, and commercially astute advice.
* Prepare and present high‑quality reports, dashboards, and recommendations for senior and executive audiences.
* Support business development activity through technical input, proposal support, and client engagement.

Technical & Regulatory Leadership

* Provide technical leadership on building services systems, plant optimisation, controls, and energy engineering solutions.
* Maintain oversight of regulatory compliance, including ESOS, SECR, Streamlined Energy and Carbon Reporting, and relevant standards.
* Keep abreast of evolving legislation, technology, and best practices within the energy and sustainability landscape.

Leadership & People Development

* Provide line management, coaching, and mentoring to junior energy or sustainability professionals.
* Contribute to capability development, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement within the wider team.
* Promote a culture of safety, professional excellence, and innovation.

About You

* A degree (or equivalent) in energy management, engineering, building services, environmental science, or a related discipline.
* Chartered status (e.g. CIBSE, EI, IEMA, RICS) or actively working towards chartership.
* Proven experience in energy management, energy consultancy, or a related technical role, ideally across complex or multi‑site estates.
* Strong technical understanding of energy systems, building services, and energy efficiency technologies.
* Demonstrable experience in energy cost modelling, carbon reporting, and business case development.
* Excellent analytical, report‑writing, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex information clearly.
* Strong stakeholder management capability and confidence operating at a senior level.
* A proactive, results‑driven mindset with the ability to balance strategic thinking and operational delivery.
