About the Role
Bolton Council is seeking an experienced Social Worker to join the EXIT Team, supporting vulnerable young people at risk of exploitation. Working closely with Greater Manchester Police and multi-agency partners, you will safeguard young people, deliver direct interventions, and create robust risk reduction and support plans.
This role is ideal for social workers with expertise in child sexual abuse, grooming, exploitation, youth offending, trauma-informed practice, and safeguarding.
Key Responsibilities
Manage a caseload of at-risk young people and their families.
Conduct specialist exploitation assessments and develop risk reduction/support plans.
Deliver direct interventions addressing violence, offending, anti-social behaviour, substance misuse, peer pressure, trauma, and ACEs.
Work within a multi-agency framework, co-located with GM Police, providing support and consultation to partner organisations.
Apply child protection safeguarding processes, youth legislation, and crime prevention/diversion strategies.
Participate in evening and occasional weekend work to meet service needs.
Maintain high professional standards and engage in continuous development.
Essential Requirements
Recognised Social Work qualification (Degree or equivalent).
Social Work England registration (current and active).
Experience with vulnerable young people, exploitation, or child protection.
Knowledge of child sexual abuse dynamics, grooming, and manipulation.
Understanding of youth offending, crime prevention, and diversion programmes.
Able to work independently and collaboratively within a multi-agency team.
Flexible to work evenings and occasional weekends.
Willingness to undergo DBS checks and provide references.
