Our Corporate Tax team are rapidly expanding and recruiting a Corporate Assistant Tax Manager to join our team in Birmingham.

Key Responsibilities
* Preparation and submission of Corporation Tax Computations and CT600’s
* Dealing with basic tax queries on behalf of clients
* Contact with H M Revenue & Customs as necessary
* Routine tax advisory assignments under the guidance of the Tax Managers, Tax Directors and Tax Partners
* Managing a small portfolio of clients
* To assist with the management of a portfolio of clients to ensure that all Tax computations and Corporate Tax Returns are prepared and submitted to H M Revenue & Customs by the due dates
* Calculation of the client’s tax liabilities together with a reconciliation of the tax due and advising clients accordingly
* Initial preparation for meetings under the instruction and guidance of the Tax Partners and other senior members of the Tax Department
* Attendance at meetings with clients, potential clients and contact with the Tax Partner and other senior members of the Tax Department
* Preparation of meeting notes using the firm’s standard format
* Circulation of meeting notes and following up on action points
* General client administration
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Working towards ACA/CTA
* Applies technical skills to provide solutions to client via an understanding of the tax system.
* To be proactive in identifying changes in the legislation and how these impacts on own client base
* Ensures application of the firm’s technical standards in carrying out own work
* Maintains and develops technical knowledge through appropriate training
* Seeks advice where appropriate in order to minimise risk
* Uses IT software efficiently to carry out work
* Delegates work to junior staff and reviews work for technical accuracy
* Develops a specialism in insolvencies / academies / not for profit
