Role:
We are recruiting for a Care Support Worker to provide person-centred support to individuals and their carers. The aim of the role is to enable individuals to live independently, maintain their health and wellbeing, and actively participate in their community while preserving dignity and respect.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Deliver high-quality personal, social, and domestic care in line with individual support plans
2. Promote independence using a “doing with, not doing for” approach
3. Respect individual lifestyles, choices, and equality principles at all times
4. Maintain confidentiality and uphold dignity in all aspects of care
5. Work in accordance with Health & Safety regulations
Key Responsibilities:
Care & Support:
6. Assist with personal care including bathing, dressing, continence care, and hygiene
7. Support with mobility, transfers, and use of specialist equipment
8. Assist with feeding and medication (as prescribed and documented)
9. Support with rehabilitation programmes where required
10. Provide emotional support to individuals and families
11. Supervise and support individuals in the community where appropriate
Domestic Tasks:
12. Meal preparation and washing up
13. Light cleaning as per support plans
14. Laundry and bed changing
15. Essential shopping (with receipts)
Administration & Teamwork:
16. Maintain accurate records and complete documentation
17. Report changes in circumstances or concerns to management
18. Attend training, meetings, and ongoing development sessions
19. Work flexibly to support colleagues during absence or peak demand
The Successful Candidate:
Essential:
20. Willingness to work towards or complete NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care
21. Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
22. Ability to follow instructions and work independently
23. Basic numeracy skills (e.g. handling money/shopping tasks)
24. Willingness to provide personal care
25. Understanding of equality and diversity
Desirable:
26. Previous experience in a care or support role
27. Knowledge of home care services
28. Awareness of food hygiene practices
